The Red Hot Chili Peppers stick with the theme of a slower vibe on ‘Pink As Floyd’ and ‘Your Eyes Girl’ like their previously released b-sides. ‘Pink As Floyd’ commands attention with a simple but charging arrangement from the rhythm section and a little of a reggae vibe during the verses. Taking a very sixties & hypnotic tone using both acoustic & electric guitars. ‘Pink As Floyd’ is a beautiful tribute to a great band. ‘Your Eyes Girl’ opens with some explicit banter from the studio paired with a fun piano intro. Continuing on with a stabbing rhythm. This track feeling darker than ‘Pink As Floyd’, reminiscent of the emotion on “Out Hot Minute”. And as always, captivatingly kooky lyrics like; “Black and blue from the hullabaloo, Do the caribou bite, When they look into you, your eyes girl”. Anthony Kiedis never disappoints when it comes to his insightful, honest lyrics. 4 Out Of 5 Stars
